About us
A little history
Our deer roam a medieval deer park, originally landscaped by Lancelot Brown between 1764 - 1769. A picturesque park of firs, old oak and blooms of rhododendrons centred around a lake in Melton Constable, Norfolk.
The 200 acre deer park is home to Red Deer, Fallow Deer and Sika Deer.
Our Grandfather decided on 'Mel-able' as a name for the family farming business: Mel-able being a blend of the words 'Melton Constable' . We decided to continue this for our Mel-able Antlers in memory of him.

What is an 'Antler'?
Antlers are an extension of the animal's skull, found only on the male deer (with the exception of Reindeer). The purpose being to attract a mate by showing off their large head piece and to fight off competition using their Antlers as weapons, this 'rutting' happens primarily in the mating season. Antlers are true bone and therefore extremely durable. Antlers are dropped naturally by the deer when the antler dies off and new antlers are grown. This is great for us as it means a fresh supply of antlers each year!

Our Antler Dog chews from start to finish:
It is the Stags who drop their antlers (naturally) each year. We collect these antlers from the deer park and cut them down to size. Antlers are a bone and therefore extremely tough to cut through! Any sharp edges are smoothed over and the antler is then washed with pure water, labelled and sent out to you!

Choosing the right size treat for your dog:
We have cut the antler dog chews down to size, it is recommended that you purchase an antler dog chew slightly larger than you think. Our antler dog chews are measured in weight.
The petite size antler chew would be suitable for a very small breed of dog; Miniature Dachshund, Pomeranian, Chihuahua, Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, Pekingese
The small antler chew would be suitable for smaller dog breeds such as a Dachshund, Jack Russel, Cavapoo, Miniature Schnauzer
The medium size antler chew would be suitable for dog breeds such as a Corgi, Border Terrier or Cockerpoo
The large size antler chew would be suitable for breeds similar in size to a Cocker Spaniel, Sprocker, Basset Hound or Whippet
The Extra Large dog chew would be suited to Labrador, Border Collie, Poodle
The largest antler chew is our 'giant', suitable for larger breeds of dog like the Labrador, Great Dane, Deer Hound or Irish Wolfhound
